Welcome to My Blog!

Being a teacher is full of ups, downs, and in betweens. I love the look on a students face when they learn how to read. I love when students can solve problems on their own. I absolutely love when students feel proud of their work, and want to share it with the class. This blog is going to be full of moments in the classroom, pictures, and sometimes videos. Take everything with a grain of salt, as it is my opinion & reflections.

Writing= My Favorite Time of the Day!

I love our Writing time- if you can't tell! I love watching the kids write and use the tools I have put in their folders to assist them. We always listen to inspirational songs while writing, and it really sets the mood for "all out writing" to occur.

Writers Workshop, 1, 2, 3 ACTION!

I am loving Writers Workshop! We are working hard with writing. We can write about real stories, and anything we want. I am so impressed!

Writing Partners

I absolutely love teaching Writing. This week I have encouraged the students to plan/edit with their Writing partners. It has been so nice to watch these 1st graders get together, question their partner for more details, and help their partners become the BEST writers! Loved it. Snapped a few pics---enjoy!

Monday Fun-Day

Nothing makes a Monday morning do-able like being showered with sweetness from your 1st graders. Or, how about standing back and watching the students using their tools, like the Word Wall, ALL ON THEIR OWN during Writer's Workshop!? My Monday has been pretty fabulous; probably because of my AWESOME kiddoes.

Writer's Workshop

My favorite time of the day is Writer's Workshop. There's nothing better then walking around a room of first graders, and watching them take stories from their brains and transferring them onto paper. I also love seeing my little firsties stretching out their words, trying to spell them, and then using our Word Wall as a reference! Can't wait to see all of my first graders become Authors! -Mrs. R
