Welcome to My Blog!

Being a teacher is full of ups, downs, and in betweens. I love the look on a students face when they learn how to read. I love when students can solve problems on their own. I absolutely love when students feel proud of their work, and want to share it with the class. This blog is going to be full of moments in the classroom, pictures, and sometimes videos. Take everything with a grain of salt, as it is my opinion & reflections.

Pink & Say & other bits

Pink & Say is a book that has been written and is all about an unlikely friendship that develops between two young boys, during the Civil War. This book is one of my favorite books of all time. We took stand-out quotes from the book and reflected, dissected, and evaluated on a chart. It was an amazing heartfelt lesson.

I also got to have lunch dates with these wonderful students!
Lastly, I'd like to congratulate our VFW award winner. He is kind, compassionate, and reflective which is everything that makes up a VFW student!

Harriet Tubman

Being that we are learning about the Civil War still, we focused on a famous former slave who made a difference to people all around the world, Harriet Tubman. It was really awesome to see the connections the students were making using their schema.

Pink & Say Quotes

One of my favorite books, ever! I had the students study the "stand out" quotes from the book, and read and reflect with passion. They were supposed to read with intonation and expression!
