Happy Birthday Eiffel Tower
To start our day today we used QR codes to scan and learn about the Eiffel Tower. We took notes on facts, and then discussed the most interesting facts with the class. (I did my best to sketch an Eifell Tower, and we took class notes.) Then we went on a virtual tour of the Eiffel Tower- to the first platform and the second platform. We calculated how old the Eifell Tower actually is today (126!) and compared it to various structures in the USA. We also looked up the weather and converged their Celsius degree to Fahrenheight. It was informative and interesting.

FEUDAL SYSTEM
Typed by Sean Vick:
(The goal of this lesson was to actively demonstrate a great unfairness between the money earning peasants and the money hungry kings)
First eight students were asked to go to the front of the room to represent peasants, and were each given four lolipops (representing produce and money). Then four students were chosen to be lords, and then chose two peasants and took three loli pops from each. Then two students were selected to be barons. The barons proceeded to select two lords and take four (Each lord had six after taxing the peasants) loli-pops from each. Then, one student had been selected to be king (The Bishop had been skipped). The king took all but one loli-pop from each of the two barons, possessing a total of 18 loli-pops. After the lesson, many students asked questions and gave their opinions. Landry responded with "i thought it was cruel how the peasants did all the work, yet the king did nothing and profited from them." Some students asked about how the royal system worked, with questions like; "What happens when twin sons are born? and, what happens if the queen can't have a son?"

Kahooting!
Today lovely third grade and fourth grade teachers let us borrow their Science books. The students had to dig through them and locate the grade-level standards. They were then given a 20 minute challenge of creating a 6 question quiz covering 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade standards. I am so excited to let the students take each other's quizzes on KAHOOT! (A fun way to review, teach, and learn Science standards!)

Project Based Learning- Seuss
We read 'The Lorax' and then did a project based learning project with a hypothetical donation of 400 wood acres. The students had to work in groups to discuss cost, revenue, and affect on forest wildlife. This project is just getting started and will continue over the week. It was awesome hearing their conversations!
