Welcome to My Blog!

Being a teacher is full of ups, downs, and in betweens. I love the look on a students face when they learn how to read. I love when students can solve problems on their own. I absolutely love when students feel proud of their work, and want to share it with the class. This blog is going to be full of moments in the classroom, pictures, and sometimes videos. Take everything with a grain of salt, as it is my opinion & reflections.

Mock Election 2012

The kiddoes learned all about a President, their job, and the steps they must take to become a President. We learned all about the different "branches" and the various responsibilities. Then...we learned about the two candidates that are running for the job of a President. They were provided with background information on both candidates, (where they went to school, what kind of jobs they've had, and information about their family.) We lined up with our voter registration cards, and were given ballots, went to a safe and secure area, marked our choice, and then dropped them off in the ballot box. After all of the ballots were collected we did tally marks as each vote was read aloud. It is safe to say that the 2012 winner of the Vote Off for Mrs. Ramirez's Class is.....Mitt Romney. (Although, it sure was a very close race!)
These were their voter registration card pictures

Looking up interesting facts about the President's job

Let the election BEGIN!

And the results are in...
